What is GartenFinder?
GartenFinder is the app and web app for free gardens and club rooms. You find plots, list gardens for free, rent or manage club rooms, and reach clubs or gardeners via online application and chat.
Who is GartenFinder for?
For gardeners and everyone who wants to become one. For clubs that market vacancies and rooms. And for district associations or managers who manage free gardens centrally – as is common in Berlin.
What does GartenFinder cost?
Search, favourites, application and chat are free. Listing gardens is free – no listing fee and no brokerage fee. On successful club-room booking you pay 10% brokerage fee on rent and extras; deposit excluded. Optionally there is the Premium profile.
What does the Premium profile cost?
Premium costs 1.25 € per month with annual billing – 15.00 € per year, incl. 25% tax. Core features remain free.
What is included in Premium?
Push alerts when a garden becomes free in your preferred region. Digital application folder for stronger presentation to clubs. Video tours for club gardens. Premium badge, highlighted listings, and an application dashboard with standard replies to inform many applicants quickly.
Can you really list gardens for free?
Yes. You list your garden or club plot without a fee. There is no monthly fee for the listing and no brokerage fee on garden matching itself.
How high is the brokerage fee for room bookings?
On successful room booking the brokerage fee is 10% on rent and extras. The refundable deposit is excluded. Without a booking you pay nothing. Listing rooms is free.
When is the deposit returned and the club paid?
The customer searches, finds and pays. The club prepares the event. After the event, customer and club give feedback: if everything is fine, the deposit is returned and the club is paid. If something is damaged, all money stays held until repairs are done and the invoice is submitted to GartenFinder – then the deposit difference and remaining payout follow. See “How it works” for details.
Can district associations manage free gardens centrally?
Yes. As a district association or manager – the layer above clubs – you list vacancies centrally, reach applicants digitally and keep processes clear. This is especially relevant where free gardens are managed by a third party, for example in Berlin.
Where do you download the app?
Preferably from the App Store or Google Play. You can also use GartenFinder anytime as a web app in the browser – e.g. at login.gartenfinder.app.

Is there automatic translation in the chat?
No. Chat happens in a shared language. Every club states which languages it can communicate in. That means fewer misunderstandings – just like meeting in person, where there is no live translator either.
